Projects typically last many years and hence provide opportunities
to plan, implement and deliver sustainable contributions to social wellbeing,
environmental stewardship and economic prosperity.
PPM has identified a number of values specifically applicable
to Sustainable Development:
- PPM will plan, design, execute and operate in a manner that enhances
sustainable development
- PPM will seek to integrate sustainable development considerations
into all decision-making processes and client interactions
- Everyone has a personal responsibility to leave a positive legacy
for the future generations
- Sustainable Development considerations are integral to, and compatible
with, all other management functions.
PPM has developed certain principles specifically applicable
to Sustainable Development:
- Sustainable Development will enhance rather than adversely affect
business delivery and creates a strategic advantage
- There is a critical inter-dependence between the production and
use of human-made capital and the maintenance and supply of natural
capital (natural capital being made up of resources, living systems,
and ecosystem services)
- PPM promotes energy efficiency and responsible recycling
- PPM encourage clients, partners and suppliers of goods and services
to adopt principles and practices that are comparable to its own
- PPM encourages responsible product design, use, reuse, recycling
and disposal
- PPM contributes to community development in collaboration with host
communities and their representatives
- PPM encourages partnerships with governments and non-governmental
organisations to ensure that sustainable programmes are delivered.
